I've painted this scene many times, from photos and plein air, in all types of lighting. This one is painted from a photo I took last winter, it was the first time I'd seen the overlook during the winter months, so I enjoyed viewing it when most of the leaves were gone. I was able to see the barn at Harrison Park, where as normally it's not visible. My favorite part of the painting though is the warm light from the setting sun hitting the mountains.
